I (Mitchell) am an unique spiritual being with a physical body. I am filled with opposites: masculine/feminine; light/dark; etc. I am committed to a life of interdependence . . . . . . synergy . . . to the connectedness of all people and things. I am on a journey toward wholeness . . . a journey toward community of Self with self and Self with others. My mission in life is to:
1. Know Myself
2. Love Myself
3. Be Myself
4. Give Myself
To know myself . . . this means to become increasingly aware of who I really am . . . to increasingly grow in self-awareness . . . to become increasingly aware of the opposites within me. My mission in life is to make my unconscious conscious.
To love myself . . . this means to love and accept myself as a worthwhile human being with valuable gifts to offer myself and the world . . . to rid myself of internalized “shoulds” and “oughts” that have been imposed upon me from the outside. My mission in life is to give myself the unconditional acceptance that I so long for from others.
To be myself . . . as I grow in self-awareness and self-acceptance, I will continually increase in my ability to be myself . . . the real me. I will not be a facade. I will refuse to hide behind masks. I will integrate my True Self with my wounded self and thus become whole. My mission in life is to be a congruent human being.
To give myself . . . growing in self-awareness, self-acceptance and congruence, I will increasingly give myself to this one song (uni-verse) in which I live. This means balancing my freedom with my responsibility . . .living in relationships with others. My mission in life is to be a catalyst for positive change.
I will accomplish my mission through:
1. meditation
2. proactivity
3. thinking ahead. without missing the here-n-now
4. thinking win/win
5. seeking first to understand, then be understood
6. respecting all people and all things
7. working with my nocturnal dreams
8. and other methods of sharpening my psycho/spiritual/physical saw.
The expected results will be that:
1. I will live a life characterized by joy, faith, hope, and love, fully
affirming the abundance of the universe.
2. Others will be enabled. . . enabled, not controlled. . . not forced.... not fixed (I can fix no one) . .... enabled to also know, love, be and give themselves to this “one song” (“uni-verse”)in which we live.
My mission in life is to know myself, love myself, be myself, and give myself.
